A self taught artist and true maverick, his unusual unique prints are acclaimed.

Born with Sagitarius rising, Sun in Aquarius, Moon in Virgo and a Napolionic Saturn conjoined Neptune on the mid heaven, Richard spent the first half of his life working in and latterly successfully running the family funeral business and also trained and taught as a psychotherapist - until someone made him an offer he did not refuse.

He retired at 45 not out.

The Royal Photographic Society
Awarded him a Fellowship - hence Richard Phillips 'FRPS'. His unique Fellowship panel was published in the RPS Journal.

Interests and influences include Animation, Astronomy, Astrology, Cosmology, The I Ching, Films, Music, particularly- Beethoven, Brubeck, Glass & Nyman, Psychology- Jung, Technology (especially if it has buttons!) and Hand Puppetry...

The artwork is generated, conceived and created by Richard alone. He prints the images himself in his studio. The final piece signed off 'one of one' by him. Though lens based, his work is rarely recognised as photography due to his unique method of blending subject matters.

Chris English, the Symbolist painter once asked "Who had painted these" - res ipsa loquitur!

His imagination is fairly prolific
His ability to make connections/insights into clients' themes and to link source material, is unusually creative. He can also work very quickly if required to do so providing the required source material is accessible.

He also has his own stock of images but prefers to work with new ideas/themes.

He only uses high quality pigmented inks and being of archive quality, his prints will certainly outlast him.
